July Now is a great time to get away!
Take a vacation, relax and give yourself a break from all the hard work that goes on throughout the year! Be ready to celebrate our Nation's Independence Day on Saturday, July 4th! Have a safe holiday and be sure to check the Neighborhood Website often to keep updated on Summer happenings!
Welcome to Your Interactive Knights Hill Website!
Summer in Maine is just around the corner. The four or five months of snowfall we receive just seems.....like four or five months! We make the most of our Winter months by illuminating the ski slopes and Main Street. I suppose Night Ice Fishing could benefit from further promotion.
We clearly face some economic challenges this Spring as families weigh their options for vacation time, sending a child to camp, or making the annual pilgramage to LL Bean. Our Chambers of Commerce and Tourist Bureaus will no doubt be ramping up the rationale for why Maine is Vacationland. VisitMaine.com reports that some the highlights include: explore the lakes by kayak; spot a moose; relax at a sandy beach; or indulge in wild blueberry pie. They're right. I've spotted the occaisional moose, and once, even a bear, right in my front yard here in Knights Hill.
If you're visiting KnightsHillNeighbors.com for the first time, perhaps a brief history is in order. Knights Hill was developed in the late 1960's. The target audience were families within a two hour and forty-five minute drive. The theme was affordable, year-round ownership of a vacation home, that provided convenient lake and ski access. A pool, tennis courts, boat-slips, clubhouses and a water district were part of the infrastructure. The roads were paved and subsequently acquired and maintained by the Town of Bridgton.
Today with some 250 homes, Knights Hill is Bridgton's largest neighborhood, and an important contributor to the Town's tax base. We're minutes from the newly constructed Bridgton Hospital, which is part of Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Bridgton is capably served by a full-time Police Department, District Court, Tri-County Mental Health, Bridgton Health Care Center and the Lake Region School District. Our Board of Selectmen and Economic Development Committee are committed to strategic and sustainable growth, within the context of our history as a traditional New England town.
Kitchens & Baths: A Smart Place To Invest
During this economic downturn, a lot of people are interested in discovering safe and smart ways to invest their money. With the stock market in a slump and housing sales sluggish, many traditional opportunities are leaving potential investors somewhat skeptical. However, while this is not the ideal time to get top dollar for real estate, it is an excellent time to invest in the real estate you already own.
Renovating your existing kitchen or bathroom is not only a great way to give your home a newer, fresher feel; it’s also a smart investment. The market value of homes increase more from kitchen and bath renovations than from any other form of home improvement- about the same increase as the amount spent on renovating them. In other words, a well done kitchen or bath renovation, over the long haul, will pay for itself. It’s like treating yourself to a smart long-term financial investment that you can enjoy right now. And like they say, kitchens and baths sell houses.
To unlock the hidden value in your home and to start enjoying the comforts of a new kitchen or bath. Call us today for a free estimate at 207-595-0011, or visit us at www.greatnortherncarpentry.com.
